Simon is an award-winning winemaker and was Chief Winemaker at Coopers Creek Vineyard for 22 years. He has been a Panel Chair at most New Zealand wine shows and has also judged regularly in Australia. Simon was the Chief Judge at the Upper North Island Wine Challenge and The Gisborne Regional Wine Show. Simon has overseas vintage experience in Burgundy, Bordeaux and Oregon. He was awarded the inaugural Jason Winter Memorial Prize for academic achievement while completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Viticulture and Oenology from Lincoln University. Currently Simon works as a consultant and chairs the wine tastings for Cuisine Magazine. He is also known to make large quantities of chutney and marmalade.
